Hi! I’m Rachele Shafai and I’m the founder of Your Chef Yaza. Short for my middle name Yasamine, Yaza has been a lifelong nickname. Your Chef Yaza has been a culmination of life experiences from my childhood upbringing, graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in New York, working at San Francisco's top restaurants, being a postpartum doula, and traveling the world. As your private chef, Your Chef Yaza brings a love for food, well-being, warm hospitality, and nourishment to your home and table.
I grew up wanting to be a chef. In my household, if you cooked you didn’t have to do the dishes, so I quickly learned how to cook. My father immigrated to the United States from Iran and he taught himself how to cook the comforting dishes he missed from home and he taught me along the way. In my house hospitality has always been an act of love. Greeting friends and family with refreshments, fresh fruit, and elaborate meals taking days to prepare was common. If you’re in our home you are never wanting and always taken well care of. So naturally I turned this level of hospitality and care into my business, Your Chef Yaza.
Your Chef Yaza embraces the bountiful produce, seafood, and meat we are fortunate to be surrounded by in the Monterey Bay area. Preparing innovative clean and vibrant dishes enhances the natural flavors of the abundant seasonal ingredients. Your Chef Yaza cooks creative and fresh meals in the comfort of your home that are specially curated to your preferences, giving time back in your day to focus on what’s important to you.
